Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Recently I've been on the hunt for a lightweight foundation. I usually wear Mac's studio fix fluid but as the closest Mac store is 30 miles away (and I'm not one to enjoy paying postage online) I ended up picking up Estee Lauders double wear instead from Debenhams. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant foundation I just wanted something which wasn't so heavy for day to day wear. Double wear is a very high coverage foundation and I just felt as though I was pasting it on, so instead I'm going to limit my use on that for evening occasions only.  After hearing only good reviews on Revlon's 'Nearly Naked' foundation I thought I'd give it a go myself. I only usually ever wear higher end foundations as all the previous drugstore ones I've tried just don't compare (I'm only a snob for foundations, I'll buy my lippies and blush anywhere...) but as I'm trying to cut my spending habits recently I decided to nip into Boots and pick this up.

Nearly naked is more of a light-to-medium coverage- build-able if you wish, and gives a lovely glowing finish to the face. For £8.99 you can't really promise a miracle but close to that it does deliver. I apply this with my trusty Real Techniques buffing brush and I'm good to go. The longevity is better than any other drugstore one I've tried with only very little necessary touch ups throughout the day (the usual after eating, blowing nose occasion) and It doesn't necessarily have a particular smell but not a bad one even so. Limitations could be that the colour range is typical of a drugstore foundation with only 10 shades to choose from, although I did manage to find a pretty near match for myself -even though I tend to compliment it with my fake tan as I'm rather washed out without it. Also, instead of a pump it is an open top so it is a bit awkward and messy to get product out, you need to give it your full attention so you don't waste any product or cause a spillage.

Overall for the price the product is a good one and it's a nice practical foundation for day to day wear. It's also quite a bargain if you ask me, although I will probably end up just repurchasing my Mac foundation when I get a chance to but for now this will suffice. Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?

  6. I'll have to give this a try. I love sheer coverage foundation (right now I'm all about NARS Sheer Glow) and I could use one that isn't ridiculously expensive.
