20 Ways to Stay Productive

If there's one thing I struggle with, it's productivity. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one out there who struggles (or at least I hope I'm not...). I usually think to myself on a weekend 'I'll have a nice relaxing one, watch a few films, do the washing and cleaning and schedule a few posts' and then in reality I'm a groggy slob who feels tired and frustrated with little to no energy to even watch a film - eurgh! I decided enough was enough, I did a little research, changed my ways of thinking and voila. Even little changes to your day can make big differences! I thought I'd share my list of ideas that may give you that little boost you need to keep productive.

1. Get yourself into a routine. I've started getting up early and squeezing in 20 minutes of daily exercise before work

2. Make time for breakfast in the morning

3. Get out of bed an hour earlier

4. Write a list and stick to it, you will feel a sense of accomplishment once it's completed

5. Take short breaks every hour or so, stretch your legs & go for a little walk

6. Drink plenty of water - this will help to keep your energy levels up

7. Work in a clutter free space - ensure your desk is spacious and tidy

8. Set yourself goals - stick to them

9. Keep yourself relaxed

10. If you don't get something done, don't beat yourself up about it

11. Do some exercise - even if its just 15 minutes (it's hardly anything out of your day) and you'll feel amazing afterwards

12. Limit your time on social media - maybe just 23 out of the 24 hours a day would be a slight improvement?

13. Do one thing at a time - don't try and multi task, you'll just end up with several unfinished jobs

14. Stay positive!

15. Turn off the TV - Jeremy Kyle ain't gonna solve this one!

16. Try to get out of the habit of checking your emails every two minutes, leave it an hour or two...

17. Plan! Whether that's blog posts or meals for the week, it's good to be organised

18. Try and stop yourself getting distracted, pop some headphones in and get into the zone

19.  Stop putting something off - if it's a 5 minute job just do it and then it's over with

20. Work with someone else - do some studying with a friend and motivate each other

Nailbox Review

I've always wanted to sign up to a monthly subscription box but I've just never bitten the bullet. I never jumped on the Glossybox bandwagon either as I'm just the sort of person that would probably get excited over the products in first instance, yet in reality I'd hardly or never use them. I know it's a nice way to test products out but when you have bills to pay you'd rather put the money on something you know you'll get more use out of. I also seem to have a LOT of products floating around my dressing room that I think one day i'll need and well, I just simply don't have room for any more.

That being said, when Nailbox got in touch and asked if I'd like to review one of their boxes - I couldn't resist. I mean, what a genius idea? I'm always painting my nails and a box like this is something I would actually invest in and I know I'll get use out of them and my money's worth. Especially when one of the nail polishes alone is practically the price of the box.

Nailbox launched in April this year and offer a range of subscription packages, obviously the longer you sign up for the subscription, the better the deal. You can pay monthly or upfront for 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. Each box contains either 3 or 4 polishes and 1 or 2 nails tools/treatments.

In the box I received 4 polishes and a nail tool. I was delighted to see such a lovely array of colours - they are the perfect summer shades and I have neither of them already (besides the mint colour - but it's one of my favourite colours so its always good to have a back up for when one goes gloopy!) The goodies came packaged nicely in a little brown box. The packaging wasn't as aesthetically pleasing as others on the market, but who cares? It's what's inside that counts.

I received the following.

Essie in shade 'Status Symbol' that retails for £7.99
Nicole by O.P.I in shade 'Alex by the Brooks' that retails for £7.99
Rimmel 60 Seconds in shade 'Lucky Lilac' that retails for £3.99
Orly Colour Blast in shade 'Fiery Orange' that retails for £9.50
Elegant Touch cuticle pusher & nail cleaner that retails for £9.50

So basically I received £39 worth of products for £15! Amazing huh?! Overall I'm incredibly pleased with my box and I think it's such great value for money, especially compared to other boxes. It's definitely a monthly treat worth investing in.

Shower Essentials for getting Summer Ready

Well the clouds have parted and it's only raining every few days - it must be Summer! I love the Summer season. Having picnics, BBQ's, beer gardens and generally being able to leave my humble adobe and see a bit more of the world and do some wandering outside. Although you can obviously do that any time of the year, it's a bit easier to kick your butt off the sofa when the suns out. I find it hard to turn down trashy TV and junk food but when its over 20 degrees outside, I find a way.

I was lucky enough to receive a box full of goodies from Mira Showers* to aid in getting Summer ready. I received the perfect shower essentials, including a body polish, hair mask, shower gel and bath robe, as well as one of their amazing 360 shower heads. I was super duper excited to find all of these goodies inside the box and was eager to get these pictures taken so I could hop into the shower use them!

I firstly took my make up off, popped my robe on and dampened my hair. I then applied the Deep Repair masque to my hair and left this on for about 10 minutes to soak in all the goodness. Once the ten minutes were up, I grabbed my body polish and shower gel and popped into the shower to rinse it out.

Whilst I was in the shower I took the 360 shower head for a test drive. It has four different types of water flow, Rain - a fully drenching spray, Cloud - a soft and soothing soak, Storm - a saturating downpour, and Burst - a sheet of massaging water (which I must say is my favourite!) Verdict? Absolutely amazing. I loved the fact that it had 4 different options of water flow and was so easy to install. All you have to do is simply screw the head on and bobs your uncle.

Once I had rinsed out the masque my hair felt so lovely and soft, I absolutely love Macadamia and cannot recommend this product enough. I then made myself squeaky clean using the Molton Brown Pink Peppered body wash which smells absolutely delicious. Next, it was time for exfoliating using the Molton Brown Pink Pepper body polish.  Exfoliating your skin is the perfect way to remove dead skin cells and it also makes your skin smoother and fresher - always a must if you plan to get your pins out! I tend to do this 2-3 times a week to help maintain my skin and keep it looking and feeling healthier. I then rinsed off, popped my robe back on and put my feet up for a little relax.

Suddenly Madame Glamour Eau De Parfum Review

Okay so this is probably a perfume you've never even heard of. Am I right? Yes. I hadn't heard of it either until my friend at work started spraying it and I immediately asked her where it was from. I firstly assumed it was Dior or Chanel, and much to my surprise, she responded with "it's a Lidl perfume". Yup, you heard it right... Lidl. Now, I'm not a shopping snob, I love getting a food shop from Aldi - but I was absolutely gobsmacked. It smells like a high end, luxurious scent.

She kindly offered to pick me a bottle up on her next shopping trip and I was super excited when she brought it into work for me a few days later. Now the packaging isn't amazing but it isn't bad either. It has lovely golden detailing and a peachy tinted bottle. It actually isn't too far off looking like my Ghost Sweetheart perfume. Oh, and the best part of all is, it retails at £3.99 for 50ml - what a bargain!

I'm horrendous at describing scents, but after a little bit of research I found that several newspapers have actually picked up on the luxurious scent too and have compared it to Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. It's surprisingly rather long lasting too, I usually just have a little top up in the afternoon. Either way, I don't think spending £3.99 for a gorgeous new scent is hardly breaking the bank, so get yourself down to Lidl ladies!

Have anyone else tested out this perfume before? What where your thoughts?

Sleek Blush by 3 Pink Lemonade Review

I've been wanting to expand on my ever so tiresome looking blusher collection for some time now and after receiving a Boots voucher for Christmas I thought I'd pick myself a new one up...or three!

I was at the Sleek stand already selecting the infamous Storm palette, when I spotted their collection of blusher trios. After swatching nearly ever single one of them, I finally decided to go with Pink Lemonade. I do love a bright pinky blusher shade and this one ticked all the boxes! I actually haven't tried any Sleek products before (shock horror!) so I was very excited to see what all the fuss is about.

The Blush by 3 palette features two shimmer blushers and one creamy blusher. I don't really have a preference as I really love both of the formulas, but it was nice to have a little mix of the two. The palette includes the shades Icing, Macaroon and Pink Mint that I equally admire. The colours are super pigmented, so a little goes a long way, and I found that all three kept my cheeks blushed all day. Of course, the creamy blush is a little more long lasting and stubborn, but I find that with all creamy blushes, I also find they're much easier to blend onto the cheek on application.

You can find the Blush by 3 palette here for £9.99. Have you ever tried one of their Blush by 3 palettes?
