Monthly Favourites: July

I don't think I've ever written a monthly favourites before...

Yep, I've had this blog since 2012 and I've never ever written a monthly favourites post. Suddenly, all I can vision is that scene from Mean Girls when Damian shouts, "SHE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE."

Aaaand now I really want to watch Mean Girls...

July has been good to me. I've been super duper positive this month. I've even started blogging again, like, who would've thought? I've crawled from under my rock and I'm back! I guess I just needed a push and motivation from within and hey presto!

It's amazing how big of a part blogging plays in your life. You don't realise until you've had a break from it. It's quite bizzare. I mean, it's quite a time consuming hobby to have, I can see why so many people are doing it as a full time job nowadays. Regardless, I felt like I needed my little space on the internet back. I've had a massive break from the internet and social media and I feel like it has done me wonders. I felt like I was posting blog posts for the sake of it, rather than wanting too. I started reading blogs again a couple of months ago and I think that has played a massive part in inspiring me to blog again.

So, without further ado - my July favourites.

Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme

I could probably sit and smell this perfume ALL DAY. On the website it's described as a "floral oriental" scent - which, even though I cannot describe a smell to save my life I do agree with. As soon as I smelt this perfume I had to purchase it. The initial smell is quite strong (which I personally like) but it also does settle into a lovely and long-lasting fragrance. All I recommend is that you go and smell it in a shop. I also have my eye on the new Orchard Soleil by Tom Ford.

Pokemon Go

Soooo unless you've been living under that rock with me, how much has Pokemon Go taken over your life? My boyfriend downloaded it when it was released in the US and we've been hooked ever since. We've been out on walks totalling to like 2038230 hours in the past month alone and whenever we go out in the car, or drive to or from work I take over the Pokemon Trainer role and catch as he drives. We're a team. Pikachu - we will walk 500 miles for you.

I'm just really feeling them at the moment. It started when I began looking for a replacement work shoe. I work in an office, so I tend to just throw on a pair of dollie shoes. However, in the past couple of months (after buying about THREE different pairs) I've come to the realisation that they don't last very long and when it rains, my feet get wet. Not ideal. I started trawling the internet for a more 'appropriate' shoe and then I spotted these in Topshop for a bargainous £29. All hail the loafer! I now have a handful of loafers on my mental wishlist.

The US Office

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. I am hands down obsessed with The US Office. My boyfriend actually got me into this. He's already watched the complete boxset and for a while he kept trying to get me to re-watch it with him but I wasn't too fussed. One day I decided to let him put on the first episode... I will forever be in his debt. This has actually taken over my life. It's gone straight up there to my number 1 favourite TV show EVER. I just bloody LOVE IT. I'm currently on season 8 and I'm so sad because there's only 1 season left. Sob. I 100% recommend that you watch this if you haven't already!

Urban Decay Palette by Gwen Stefani

As you can see from the imagery, I've used this palette to death (or to pan even!) I use it every single day without fail. It's my contour/blush/highlight go to. I think that's why I love it so much, all three in one! The shades are absolutely stunning and I love the formula of the powders too! They don't feel cakey or heavy and they glide on so seamlessly. I absolutely love the finish too - it's sort of a glowy finish, definitely nothing OTT, just a nice subtle hint of shimmer. Perfect for summer!
